Why is fight club one the most influential film ever?

A lot of films are watched and then ditched, never to be looked back again. A lot of other films hold some records and get some prizes, so their name remains for quite a bit. But this film doesn't fit into any of these categories. David Fincher film, Fight Club is extraordinarily unique and gets more discussion than the currently released movies every single day.

Tyler Durden explicitly states "The first rule of Fight Club is; You do not talk about Fight Club".
To make it more clear, he states "The second rule of Fight Club is; YOU DO NOT TALK ABOUT FIGHT CLUB." But the members of fight club always violate the rule, so do the film lovers. Fight Club is at the top of discussion for every film geeks. Here is a glimpse of it:

And here I am, violating the rule because it feels so important to break that rule. It feels that the rule is indirectly suggesting the opposite.

Fight Club has subtle but very powerful hints towards consumerism, the irrelevancy general people are, the decaying masculinity on men, materialism taking over spiritualism, people becoming too purposeless and capitalism in too much of excess. None of this is desirable for humans and yet we all seem to be moving towards it.

Ironically, Fight Club ends up building a huge consumer base, the protagonist ends up capitalizing his ideology, the breaking of rules somewhat seems to have gone too much and the crime rates increased, the followers of Tyler Durden each look like a copy of a copy of a copy even though Tyler despises this duplication of materials he sees around and yes we all are breaking the first and second rule of the Fight Club.
