Blood Diamond: A powerful story of Empathy

Who cares about how a beautiful piece of diamond is put in a decorated room for sale? What does it take for that stone to have reached to shining your purse? While rich people in Europe are wearing diamond necklaces to impress or to show off, the people in Africa are loosing blood in order to supply them. Humanity has often ignored the toil and sacrifices the labor puts into something. As someone climbs upwards in the hierarchy of needs, he often forgets those who are still struggling for the very first level of needs merely for survival. The story-line is consistent, the acting is masterful, so are the directing and the editing. What I appreciate most about the film is the depth of the characters, most of them didn't fall for the typical Hollywood stereotypes.
