Blood Diamond: A powerful story of Empathy

    Who cares about how a beautiful piece of diamond is put in a decorated room for sale? What does it take for that stone to have reached to shining your purse? While rich people in Europe are wearing diamond necklaces to impress or to show off, the people in Africa are loosing blood in order to supply them. Humanity has often ignored the toil and sacrifices the labor puts into something. As someone climbs upwards in the hierarchy of needs, he often forgets those who are still struggling for the very first level of needs merely for survival. The story-line is consistent, the acting is masterful, so are the directing and the editing. What I appreciate most about the film is the depth of the characters, most of them didn't fall for the typical Hollywood stereotypes. The Gladiator: Best war movie ever?

       Recently, after watching this movie I couldn't control but write about it. From storytelling to acting and to the incredible war genre; everything makes the film more exquisite.         The spaniard(Russel), a well trusted man by the king during the Roman empire is proposed to be King after the death of that king. But of course, the king has a son. How could a prince living an half of his life waiting to be king someday simply submit to his father's idea? So the prince plots against the spaniard ordering his men to kill him and his entire family and burn his village. If this had gone as planned, well the film wouldn't be existing in the first place and secondly, it wouldn't have been interesting enough.     As the spaniard manages to escape by killing the men of the prince, he ends up being a slave fighter.
